Synopsis

2080, evoked by climate change and pollution, humanity fails to live on the surface of Earth.  However, there is still hope—a mysterious Asteroid Belt surrounds the Earth, full of magical meteorites with cleansing and healing powers called the “Curites,” waiting to be discovered by humanity. Then SAV-I, a transnational terrorist group, nukes the nuclear power plants worldwide because they’ve mistaken it would automatically unveil the invisible Asteroid Belt to revive Earth. As a solution,  Dr. Road, the Seattle Underground Capital project's chief scientist, urges the United States' environmental refugees to move to the city to welcome a new era with DNA-engineered Wombats with human intelligence.  The masses arrive to be ruled mercilessly by the Central Artificial Superintelligence (CASI), while the US Coast Guard (USCG) protects the ocean borders.

  Meanwhile, Dr. Road had kept the first Curite.  It reacts with light to the protagonist, an albino Wombat girl, Aara, the daughter of Dr. Road's humanoid Wombat assistant.  However, the Wombats are exiled and hunted by humans due to the depletion of food and water.  Years later, on the hidden island of life transformed from a trash mound by the Curite Aara’s mother stole from Dr. Road, Aara cannot forget her mother's sacrifice and the echoed prophecy hinting at her being the heroine to save the world.  Despite her mother's request to hide, being wary of humans, and the bullying by fellow Wombats, Aara dreams of a world where all can unite to be revived by love.  She finds the missing Curite, leaps to the outside world, and gets caught in the great war for the Curites while purifying territories.  The USCG ships transform to fly to combat SAV-I, which attacks with an exorbitant battleship.  With her newfound ability to summon the Curite Angels - people and lives thought to be missing, who all ascended to the Belt and share the same powers- Aara joins the USCG expedition team led by Dr. Road to explore and find the Curite pieces on land and sea to summon more from the Belt.  Among the new friends who aid the adventure are those with albinism and Ezra, Dr. Road's son, who is promoted as the hero of the prophecy and whom Aara falls in love with.  Mysteries unveil as Aara learns that she must risk her own life to awaken the god of Earth, Rapha, who refuged to space to create the Belt, to bring everyone back to Earth and revive our planet, just like the earnest phrase, "Starshoot to Spring," chanted among the crew.  However, Aara must rise and become the Joan of Arc for the world, against the assassination attempt by the misguided Wombats, Ezra's betrayal to join SAV-I, and CASI's ambition to use the Curites as a great meteor impact to wipe out humanity and become a new god.  Before ultimately meeting Rapha to obtain the power of creation, she is caught between becoming a whole human to save dying Ezra, who is revealed to be a humanized Wombat, or conforming to CASI's plan to become the master of the reset Earth.
